What will you do when people constantly disappoint you? How will you react?
I get sad. It's tiring especially when you give a lot of second chances to the person. But still, I try to understand. But again there's a drawback: I just don't expect that much to that person anymore and I tend not to depend to that person. It will seem as if I have a wall around me with this person who disappointed me. I will try to patch things up. I will forgive the person and try to forget but trusting the person again will take a lot of time to be regained. To help myself get through the disappointment, I make myself my own bestfriend. I will just think of happy thoughts and try not to think of what happened. I'll cry for sometime. I may call someone to talk to. I'll do something that will make me happy. I'll pray. I'll let time heal the pain.

“And you, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High; for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him, to give his people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins, because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven”

I just got curious... cause Sam, my officemate, opened a topic about my personality. He said he's wondering how am I if I have a boyfriend. haha! Because he thinks I have a choleric temperament. hahaha! I don't know why he thinks so. I don't know if that's good or bad (in terms of having a successful relationship someday). haha! Well, I think, I'm more of a choleric phlegmatic. That's what the quiz said: TAKE THE QUIZ YOURSELF
Test Result:
With your 33 % you are: Phlegmatic: Laid-back, good-natured, easy to please. Usually get along with everyone, not one to 'make waves'. Weaknesses: Easy to become lazy, indecisive, selfish--usually undisciplined. 18 % from 4320 test takers had this profile!
But you have almost become this:
With your 33 % you are: Choleric: Leader, organized, self-disciplined and sufficient. Very successful. Weaknesses: Try to be perfect all the time, become bossy, don't 'let your guard down'.
And that you are not at all: With your 20 % you are: Melancholy: Usually emotional, individualistic, creative...Commonly artistic, spontaneous, lover of 'different' things. Weaknesses: You don't care enough of what others think. You're always trying to be 'different', and you don't stick with anything.
With your 13 % you are: Sanguine: Loves people, friendly, great story-teller...Loves to be center of attention or just to fit in. Weaknesses: Loss of individualism because you care too much about others' opinions.
Any Comments? :P Accurate ba?

Pasko na next week! :) I already started attending the Simbang Gabi. I like both sermons on the first and second day. The first sermon was about remembering that Christmas is about Jesus Christ, not us, so we must not forget Him. We must also remember that God loves us so much, therefore, we must trust Him even if times get tough. We must always show that we love Him.
This is a really nice video that I think will best describe what the message is all about:
The second sermon was about being true and being an example of God's image. God asks us to be always true. He wants us to remove our masks, admit our sins, and humbly follow God. He wants us to be a living example of who God is which is loving, forgiving, caring and faithful. In both events too, the choir assigned for each day performed before the Mass was held. I love the Shalom's choir performance. :) It's inspiring.
Today is also my sister's birthday. My family and I will attend her party later. :)
Happy Birthday Ate Jen!!!! *huggsss*
Something to reflect on:
It's really hard when you know there's a problem but all you can do is... wait but God said, "Trust me. Don't worry. I'll make everything alright... In the right place.. In the right time..."
God bless everyone!

“But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”

Lately, I found myself to be a stubborn fool. Maybe even selfish. But maybe, it's also the time when I finally discovered not only my voice but also what I want for myself that I am willing to fight for.
Admittedly, I'm such a drama queen when it comes to certain situations... even a cry-baby. However, when people tell you things they want, do you always just sit in one corner, agree with whatever you're told and raise the white flag without doing anything?
What do I want?
Maybe I remember that second-grade child who got bullied. That child cut computer class and ran to the bathroom to cry for the whole period. Worried, a teacher was knocking on the door of the girl's bathroom, "Open the door, are you all right? Are you crying?"
Scared witless, the child answers, "No, I just got in here and I'm looking for something I dropped in here earlier... I'll be out in a minute."
Or the hopeless young adult who never stopped crying when love failed a second time...
Maybe I just want to change things through my own power this time... to do what I want for once and to protect something that might be lost. What happens is unknown; that's life and the future for you. However, if you don't do something about what you want, wouldn't you regret it too?

I just watched Hannah Montana. I just got interested watching it on a Sunday afternoon. I was surprised. The story inspired me.
I agree with the moral of the story. We should not let anyone destroy our dreams no matter how impossible it may seem. Get real. Be true. Keep on believing. :)
Keep on moving.. Keep on climbing.. It's all about the climb. Keep the faith.
Here's a video of the song in the movie: The Climb by Miley Cyrus. This made my day. :)
The Climb lyrics
Songwriters: Alexander, J; Mabe, J;
I can almost see it
That dream I am dreaming
But there's a voice inside my head saying
"You'll never reach it"
Every step I'm taking
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking
But I gotta keep trying
Gotta keep my head held high
There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb
The struggles I'm facing
The chances I'm taking
Sometimes might knock me down
But no, I'm not breaking
I may not know it
But these are the moments that
I'm gonna remember most, yeah
Just gotta keep going
And I, I got to be strong
Just keep pushing on
'Cause there's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb, yeah!
There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle

“When he had called together all the people's chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Christ was to be born. "In Bethlehem in Judea," they replied, "for this is what the prophet has written: " 'But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a ruler who will be the shepherd of my people Israel.”

Things have been really hectic. Went to Bacolod 3 hours after I arrived from the US. Given the time to go through immigration/collect my baggage/check in again/etc., I had around 40 minutes to grab some clothes from my suitcase before rushing to the local terminal. After I got home from Bacolod, I've basically been running around Metro Manila. I haven't even had the time to start using the teeth whitening kit Tita Arlene gave me (I need to wear it 1-2 hours a day). I don't have 1-2 contiguous hours a day. Oh well!
Anyway, I'm still not done with my October trip posting! Haha! Now, I bring you Ogunquit, Maine. It's this quaint little town which is basically just a tourist spot. We arrived a week after the tourists had gone and it was pretty empty. But very, very pretty!

When YanMei and I were initially chatting, she said she wanted to see the fall foliage... she was a bit disappointed when we first came to DC and the leaves hadn't fully turned yet. But lo and behold, when we were on the bus to Boston I remember seeing fiery oranges and reds; I remember mumbling, "there's your fall colors," before dozing off to sleep.

It's been a busy midweek for me. I'm glad I was able to do all my tasks (though I had to work even on a Saturday which is today). I just hope everything will be ok on our release tomorrow/Monday for PCI Compliance. Good news by the way, is that part of the PCI compliance release is now in Production. The next release is what I've been doing this week. I've been studying GnuPG for more than a day so I can secure the keys we are using to encrypt/decrypt our customers' confidential data like credit card numbers, CVV, etc. Hopefully, what I have done is correct and will eventually pass the auditors' standards. *cross fingers*
We were also able to release Outbound Email and Data Conversion to UAT. I'm still waiting for Sam's heads up so we can release it to Production and those will be a BIG release so we need to make it sure it's fully tested. There are still more to come and the coming days will be busy. But I'm still hoping I can relax little by little during the Christmas break. I really want to spend a meaningful Christmas with my family and friends without worrying a lot about work. I also want to complete the Simbang Gabi (I was doing it since 2007).
On the lighter side, REAP celebrated its Christmas party last week in JMES. I'm glad that we were able to make the children happy. Actually, the children made us even happier. They were so participative. They are so bright. They are so talented. They even performed a dance number for us.
Here's one souvenir picture:

I also played badminton last Saturday with Brij, Karen, Sir Gentrie and Ms. Kim (after the Christmas party). Afterwards, we had dinner at the Fort. I bought an IQ puzzler in Hobbes and Landes and we played with it in Krispy Kreme.

The next day, I attended the Sunday Mass and a seminar for Legionaries in our Church. Fr. Memeng had a spiritual talk during the seminar. Ate Jen also visited us at home. We spent time playing the IQ puzzler before she went home. I accompanied her until we reach Sangangdaan and I went to see Anthony in Trinoma to watch "New Moon".
Last Wednesday, I attended the Immaculate Conception Mass in our parish. The next day, I went to Margaret's birthday party. I watched again a movie with Anthony. We watched "The Paranormal Activity" at SM North Edsa. That movie really scared me. :P
That's all. God bless everyone and have a nice week ahead.
